What must I put on my WhatsApp, YouTube and social media accounts?
In force
Since 1 May 2026 you must show your SEBI registered name and registration number in two places.
First, on the home page of every social media handle you run.
Second, at the beginning of every video or post you upload that relates to the securities market.
SEBI names the platforms it means: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Telegram and Reddit, among others.
Closed groups count. A private WhatsApp or Telegram group is not outside this.
It applies to content uploaded on or after 1 May 2026, and it binds a one-person practice with no exceptions.
