Do I need to appoint a compliance officer?
In force
A non-individual research analyst or research entity must appoint a compliance officer responsible for monitoring compliance with the Act, RA Regulations, and SEBI circulars.
A non-individual RA may appoint an independent professional — a member of ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, or another SEBI-specified professional body — as compliance officer, provided they hold the relevant NISM certification.
An existing compliance officer of a brokerage or merchant banking firm can double up as the compliance officer for the research entity.
