Can I show my past performance or track record to clients or on my website?

In force

The default rule is no — SEBI treats any claim of return or performance in respect of a security as prohibited unless SEBI has specifically permitted it. This is a general prohibition under Regulation 30A of the SEBI (Intermediaries) Regulations, 2008, not something specific to a marketing 'best practice' — it's an enforcement-backed rule, and violation can trigger summary proceedings.

PaRRVA (Past Risk and Return Verification Agency) is now operational — CARE Ratings Ltd. is the recognised agency, with NSE as the data centre, providing services on a regular basis since May 4, 2026. This changes what's possible: once your performance data is actually PaRRVA-verified, you're permitted to use it in advertisements and marketing material — which includes your website — subject to SEBI's advertising/disclosure norms (no cherry-picking, full dataset with disclaimers referenced).

Until your data is PaRRVA-verified, you're limited to the narrower interim route (see next answer) — one-to-one, on-request only, never on a public website. So the honest short answer is: not yet, on your website — only after you're onboarded and your specific numbers are PaRRVA-verified.

Bottom line for content like quarterly cards, technical picks, or public posts: until your numbers carry PaRRVA verification, you cannot publicly advertise win-rate, returns, or track record anywhere public — website, X/social, YouTube, etc. That stays true even under the interim arrangement.
